A Long Time In Coming To
When I was young and foolish, I believed that love was everything I dreamed that
it would be.
I’d be happy ever after in a life of love and laughter, but
then I couldn’t see…
An earthly love can fade away forsake you any given day.
There’s just one love that’s true.
The One who sits enthroned on high and
sent His only Son to die to prove His love for you.
The prodigal I use to be
surrendered to His will for me.
(Chorus:)It’s like regaining
consciousness when the truth comes into view.
Perceiving what you've always
seen...believing what you always knew.
And in my life especially, I know
that this is true...
It's not just been a long time in comin, but a long
time in coming to.
Now I've never been the kind of man to go for too
much change, but the changes happened slow.
Not thinking of the conscequence
I must have wandered off a ways, but when I didn't know
Then when Jesus
opened up my eyes and showed me where I stood I wouldn't have believed...
That the attention that I didn't pay would cause me so much grief and
pain to think I was deceived.
My outlook's getting brighter as my eyes
are opened wider.
What You Didn't Do
You came down from all the glorious
joys of Heaven.
We despised You for the love You gave to all.
We beat and
spat upon You and nailed You to a tree.
You lifted up Your eyes and to your
Father called.
(Chorus:)In Your righteousness and justice You could have
said, "Enough of this!"
You could have called ten thousand angels to Your
side.
You could have laid this whole world to waste and cast our souls in
Hell.
Because of what You didn't do I'm justified.
Like a Lamb to slaughter,
Lord we know, You opened not Your mouth.
Though reviled, You reviled not
again
All Heaven stood prepared to strike at the breath of just one word
I shout,"Hallelu!" for what You didn't do
If You had chosen to return for
Your Church yesterday,
All those lost in sin would have no hope today,
But
in Your mercy You have waited that one more may call on You.
Sinner, don't
delay! He might be on His way.
Do
You Know Where Your Heart Is?
In the days when a deadbolt was not
really needed,
We knew that perrils came with the blackness of the night.
I remember, like yesterday, that late night announcement,
"Do you know
where your children are if they're not in your sight"
The Lord said last
days would be exceedingly evil
The sin of Noah's day is surrounding you
and me.
I can't help thinking trumpets are raised up in Heaven.
He's coming
soon, how ready will we be?
(Chorus:)It's late in the day. Do you know
where your heart is?
In the things that you treasure will your heart also be.
In the world it is stalked by the one that devours.
With Jesus there's joy
for all eternity.
As God saught Adam, He's seeking us today.
His mercy's
but for time. Don't turn Him away.
Turn Your Stove Around
How many times a day do you begin a noble task
Just to be assaulted by
more pressing needs?
So the noble task at hand gets tossed aside and lands
on
Back burners with the other half-baked deeds.
(Chorus:)Why don't
you turn your stove around
Where all the half-baked deeds are found?
Let
your soul catch fire. Start cookin' for the King.
Others may be stewin' over
all that you'll be doin',
but the eggs you break will go to make great things.
How many years have passed since postponing that first task?
The
burners in the back are piled so high.
Embarassed by attention all your
problems go unmentioned,
And your almost just to overwhelmed to try.
Little did we know that when we started long ago
We wouldn't even try and it would pile up so high...WHOOO!
Weep Not
Outside of the city of Nain their
cries were heard
As the crowd of mourners gathered at the gate.
Jesus moved
among them, His disciples close behind
For Heaven's answer there wasn't long
to wait.
The dead man that they carried, a widow's only son,
When touched by
Jesus, death could never keep.
Tears that she'd been crying blurred her sight
of what's to come
When in compassion Jesus told her not to weep.
(Chorus:)
God sees each tear and as the spoken word they're understood.
In groanings we
can't utter He hears our deepest thoughts,
But if throught the tears you fail to
see what God can do...Weep not.
When my faith starts to falter in His
purposes for me
And His plans are well outside my realm of thought,
When the
work that He has started and continues within me
Is reading like a story with no
plot,
The Scripture we are given is still worthy of our trust.
He means what He
said, and said just what He meant.
As I'm molded in His image, I know that He is
just
Whether joy or sorrow in my life is sent.
Weep not...Our God is in control, His promises
are true.
No need to understand His ways to know He works in you.
Where Miracles Begin
Cast off the lines that bind you to comfort's
peaceful shore.
Beyond the shallows of self-sufficiency God offers so much more.
To the deep where He has beckoned you, where the raging billows roll
Where the
wind and wave prevail to take the helm from your control.
And all that's left is
just to pray and trust through the tempest you are in...
Welcome to where miracles
begin.
Convicted by the Spirit to increase how much you give
And your take-home
pay is just enough to maintain how you live
Your belt's already tightened and
it barely meets your need
But you heed the call to surrender all, no matter where
it leads.
And all that's left is just to pray and trust through the tempest
you are in...
Welcome to where miracles begin.
Welcome to where miracles
in your life can start
By the meeting of a need, or just peace within your heart.
At the end of all you are and have and you've given in to Him,
Welcome to where
miracles begin.
A Spoon Just My Size
As I face my heartaches, I know come what may
The hand of Jesus portions out the pain I feel each day.
It's just enough to
make me trust and lean on Jesus more.
He bears my sorrows with me, so I know now,
as before,
(Chorus:)It's just my size...the spoon in Jesus' loving hand
That portions out the pain that, with Him, I can stand.
The pain will pass, but
not the words of hope and truth so wise.
He has a spoon that's just my size.
The spoonful may be bitter and often hard to take,
But I know that with His mercy
it's mingled for my sake.
Others can't imagine how their lives would be if they had
my trials. Again, that proves to me...
The spoon seems to be smaller than the times before
And when I think pain's been
all portioned out, there seems to be one more.
I know their's pain I'm spared from
and portions I won't see,
So I'll trust His love and mercy...and His purposes in me.
Goodnight And Good Morning
When comes to the weary a blessed release
When upward we pass to His kingdom of peace
When free from the woes that on earth we must bear
We'll say goodnight here, but goodmorning up there.
(Chorus:)Goodmorning up there where Christ is the light
Goodmorning up there, where cometh no night
When we step from this earth to God's Heaven so fair
We'll say good night here, but goodmorning up there.
When fadeth the day and dark shadows draw nigh
With Christ close at hand it is not death to die
He'll wipe every tear roll away every care
We'll say
good night here, but goodmorning up there
When homelights we see shining brightly above
Where we shall be
soon through His wonderful love
We'll praise Him Who called us His glory to share
We'll say good night here,
but goodmorning up there
I Know You
